Privacy Policy — Christmas Stories

Vibes for Humanity ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Christmas Stories mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

Story Content

When you create a story, we collect:

  • Character details you provide (names, ages, descriptions)
  • Story customizations and preferences
  • The generated story text and images

Device Information

We automatically collect certain information:

  • Vendor Identifier (IDFV): A unique identifier shared across apps from Vibes for Humanity on your device, used to organize your stories in our cloud storage
  • Firebase Installation ID: A unique identifier for this app installation, used for analytics
  • Device type and operating system version
  • App usage patterns (which features you use, when)
  • Crash reports and performance data
  • General location data (country/region only)

Note: We do NOT collect advertising identifiers (IDFA) or use device identifiers for tracking or advertising purposes. The IDFV is only used to organize your stories in cloud storage. Both identifiers are not linked to your personal identity.

Voice Data

If you use the voice input feature:

  • Voice recordings are processed locally on your device using Apple's Speech Recognition
  • We do not store or transmit your voice recordings
  • Only the transcribed text is used to generate your story

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Generate Stories: Story content is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate personalized story text and illustrations
  • Store Your Stories: Stories are saved locally on your device and can be backed up to Firebase Storage
  • Improve the App: Analytics data helps us understand how the app is used and identify areas for improvement
  • Provide Support: Performance and crash data helps us fix bugs and improve stability

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

Google Gemini API

Story content (character details, customizations, and prompts) is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate story text and images. This data is processed according to Google's privacy policies and is not used to train their models without your consent.

Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase services for:

  • Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics and app performance data
  • Cloud Storage: Optional cloud backup of generated story images
  • Firestore: Story template distribution and updates

Firebase data is collected and processed according to Google's Privacy Policy.

We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage: Your stories are primarily stored locally on your device
  • Cloud Storage: Generated images may be stored in Firebase Storage for backup purposes
  • Data Retention: You can delete stories at any time directly from the app
  • Security: We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data in transit and at rest

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Delete Local Data: You can delete individual stories or all stories from within the app at any time
  • Delete All Data: To delete all your data including cloud backups and analytics, contact us at privacy@vibesforhumanity.com
  • Request Data Access: Contact us to request a copy of the data we have about you
  • Opt Out of Analytics: You can disable analytics in your device settings (Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements)
  • Disable Voice Features: You can choose not to use voice input features

6. Children's Privacy

Christmas Stories is designed for family use and is rated 4+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. The app does not require account creation or personal identification.

Parents and guardians should supervise their children's use of the app and review the stories created.

7. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

  • Your name, email address, or contact information
  • Payment information (the app is currently free)
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
  • Precise location data (GPS coordinates)
  • Voice recordings (processed locally only, never stored)
  • Biometric data (Face ID, Touch ID, etc.)
  • Contacts, photos, or other personal files from your device
  • Browsing history or data from other apps

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

  • Posting the new policy on this page
  • Updating the "Effective Date" at the top
  • Providing notice within the app when appropriate

Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
